What prompted you to launch your own anti-aging solution?
Dr. med. Stefan Duve: As a dermatologist and anti-aging expert at the HAUT- UND LASERZENTRUM AN DER OPER in Munich, I have been addressing the problems and wishes of my patients for many years now, and although I can help them with anti-wrinkle injections and laser treatments, an optimum result can only be achieved in combination with cosmetic priming and aftercare using an appropriate skin care line.
Which target group does your DOCTOR DUVE Medical Skin Care line cater to?
Dr. med. Stefan Duve: Our skin care line caters to women and men who are seeking a highly effective anti-aging solution for the face and body and who place their trust in expertise in aesthetic medicine and biological research.
What is it about DOCTOR DUVE Medical Skin Care that makes it so special?
Dr. med. Stefan Duve: The pathbreaking and exceptionally effective basic active ingredients – substances known as Growth Factors – which have only been available in isolated cosmetic lines up to now. Growth Factors are plant-based biotechnological syntheses of the natural Growth Factors produced in the body up until adulthood. They regulate the metabolism and keep the skin beautifully smooth. Our Growth Factors simulate this effect, activating the skin's own anti-aging system: boosting collagen production, revitalising the cells, slowing down skin aging and firming the connective tissue.
There are currently seven products in the DOCTOR DUVE Medical Skin Care line.
Can any of them be classed as a best-seller?
Dr. med. Stefan Duve: Yes, a few of them can. For example, there's our Face Fluid, which is to be used two to four times a year in the form of a course of treatments. You can see the effects after just a few applications. The skin looks smoother and more relaxed. I like to recommend our face creams as starter products. The Anti-Aging & Clarifying Face Cream, which has an anti-aging effect on mature, irritation-prone skin, is unique on the beauty market. And then there's our highly effective and acclaimed combination product Lifting & Firming Hand & Decolleté Cream, which achieves spectacular results when used regularly.
Why is DOCTOR DUVE Medical Skin Care expensive?
Dr. med. Stefan Duve: Our products are of a very high quality and contain very expensive active ingredients in very high concentrations. The lengthy professional research required to develop them is also reflected in the price. A lower-priced anti-wrinkle skin care line may contain active ingredients which are also cheaper or which are not present in sufficient quantities, so it can certainly be worthwhile investing in a more expensive but more effective skin care line.
Do you have any plans to extend the range of your Doctor brand?
Dr. med. Stefan Duve: Yes, in just a few weeks' time we will be launching our Face Tonic. And the summer will see the introduction of two new star products: a potent Hair Serum for the intensive supply of energy to the scalp and hair along with a dietary supplement which boosts its effect. Finally, two new very promising cellulite products are to be launched in the autumn.
